<p>A center-mounted motor-type electrically assisted bicycle provided with a regeneration mechanism is configured so that clutches do not interfere with each other when the bicycle is reversed. A shift mechanism (3) and a shift control mechanism (10) are provided within the hub (1) of the drive wheel. The shift mechanism (3) is configured from a planetary gear mechanism and has a sun gear (3a), planetary gears (3b), and a planetary carrier (3c). A hub case (7) rotates integrally with an outer ring gear (3d) meshing with the planetary gears (3b). The shift mechanism (3) is configured in such a manner that, when the bicycle is driven forward, the drive force caused by the pedaling force or the output of the motor is inputted in the planetary carrier (3c) and transmitted to the drive wheel at an equal or higher speed. For each of a drive force and a reverse input, the shift mechanism (3) performs shifting by switching, by the shift control mechanism (10) through the clutches, the sun gear (3a) between a state in which the sun gear (3a) can rotate about and relative to the axle (5) and a state in which the sun gear (3a) cannot rotate about and relative to the axle (5). In each shift position of the shift mechanism (3), a reverse input from the drive wheel when the bicycle is not driven forward is transmitted in the reverse direction through the route in which the drive force is transmitted when the bicycle is driven forward.</p> |
