<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a reflector capable of efficiently reflecting incident light on an observer side to obtain bright reflection characteristics, a liquid crystal display with the reflector, and a method for manufacturing the reflector at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A diffuse reflector diffuses and reflects incident light in any directions. Projections and depressions are formed to be a shape where the top parts of respective projection parts incline in the same direction (a tilt angle is relatively small at the incident side of incident light or length of an oblique surface is relatively long), which can increase a component of an observer's visibility direction in an actual use among components of diffuse reflection to obtain bright reflection characteristics. And also, the diffuse reflector is produced using a photomask 32 in which the area of a pattern with a size of resolution limit or more, the area of a pattern with a size of less than the resolution limit and the area without a pattern are combined, which can provide fewer steps, a good yield, and low cost production. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
