<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type image display apparatus that allows a wide angle, minimizes deformation even when a position of a projection surface (screen) is changed, and is easily manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: A projection type image display apparatus magnifies an image displayed on an image display element 1 and projects the image onto a projection surface. The projection type image display apparatus comprises: lens optical systems 2 and 3 comprising a plurality of projection lenses; and a reflection mirror 5 composing a reflecting system that reflects light emitted from the lens optical systems and projects the light onto a screen 5 at a slant. A rear lens group 3 composing the lens optical system includes a plurality of lenses 31 and 32 being rotationally asymmetric. The reflection mirror 5 comprises a projection optical unit composed of a convex reflection mirror, part of which is convex shape in a reflecting direction and is rotationally asymmetric. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
