<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell structure which has a U-shaped gas channel formed inside a support substrate, and which is capable of fulfilling new functions and effects. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel gas channel 11 comprises: a forward path part 11a; a pair of return path parts 11b and 11b; and a pair of intermediate parts 11c and 11c. The forward path part extends linearly along the longitudinal direction from an inlet port 11in to the other side of the longitudinal direction at the center of thickness direction. The pair of return path parts extend linearly along the longitudinal direction from the other side of the longitudinal direction to an outlet port 11out respectively on one side and the other side of the thickness direction. The pair of intermediate parts extend from the center of thickness direction respectively to one side and the other side of the thickness direction so that an end of the forward path part on the other side of the longitudinal direction is connected to ends of both of the pair of return path parts on the other side of the longitudinal direction.
