<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber capable of maximizing an effective cross section of a photonic crystal fiber and reducing a nonlinear effect generated in the fiber. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber of the present invention includes multiple uniform holes 2 in a longitudinal direction of the optical fiber.
