<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device that can perform wiping while preventing liquid from flowing out from a nozzle, and to provide a method for wiping in a liquid jet device. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid jet device includes: a first piezoelectric element 40a for jetting an ink from a nozzle 30; an ink flow path for supplying an ink from the upstream side that is the ink cartridge side to the downstream side that is the nozzle 30 side, a reservoir 36, communication flow channel 38, and a cavity 37; a second piezoelectric element 40b capable of changing the channel cross sectional area of the communication flow channel 38; a wiping mechanism 35 for abutting a wiper on the nozzle forming face 26a of a recording head in which the nozzle 30 is formed so that the nozzle forming face 26a is wiped out; and a control section 59 for controlling the second piezoelectric element 40b and the wiping mechanism 35. The control section 59 is configured to control the wiping mechanism 35 to wipe off the nozzle forming face 26a while controlling the second piezoelectric element 40b to make the channel cross sectional area of the communication flow channel 38 small. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
