The invention relates to a DC/DC up-converter (1) comprising: a voltage source (Vs), a coil (L) and a diode (D) arranged in series, the input terminal of the coil being connected to the voltage source and the output terminal of the diode being connected to a load (Vo); a capacitor (C) disposed in parallel with the load (Vo); and a controlled switch (T) disposed with a terminal between the coil (L) and the diode (D), such as to allow the voltage (Vs) to be applied to the coil (L) when closed. The invention also includes means for controlling the controlled switch (T), configured to: switch same from a closed state to an open state when the current (IL) passing through the coil exceeds an upper threshold current (Is), and to switch same from an open state to a closed state when the current passing through the coil drops below a lower threshold current (Ii).
