<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standing assist device which can reduce the load on the knees or waist of a user during a stand-up motion, and does not disturb the movement of the user. <P>SOLUTION: The standing assist device 1 is installed in, for example, an electric chair, and includes: a first link mechanism for tilting a seated part 4 with respect to a base 2; and a second link mechanism for raising, lowering, or tilting a backrest 3 corresponding to the tilting of the seated part 4. The first link mechanism includes: a first link 11 rotatably connected to a front side 2a of the base 2; a second link 12 rotatably connected to the base 2 in the rear more than a first connection part 2a; and a third link 13 for connecting the first link 11 and the second link 12, wherein the seated part 4 is supported by the first link 11.
