<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which visibility of the operation unit is improved. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device 10 includes a manuscript reading unit 16, platen glass 54 on which a manuscript G to be read is placed, an operation panel 100 operated by an operator, and an image forming unit 50 that is arranged below the operation panel 100 and forms an image. The height of the operation panel 100 at the platen glass 54 side is made higher than the height of an upper face of the platen glass 54, and the operation panel 100 is arranged in an inclined posture. In this case, the inclination angle of the operation panel 100 can be made larger by an amount of the height difference caused by that the height of the operation panel 100 at the platen glass 54 side is higher than the height of the upper face of the platen glass 54.
