<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval result with high convenience in speech retrieval. <P>SOLUTION: A matching unit 56 performs matching of each of a plurality of retrieval result object word strings with a voice recognition result of an input voice by using a pronunciation symbol expressing an utterance, and a generation unit 57 generates a retrieval result object word string as a retrieval result for the input voice based on the matching result. A word selection unit 63 selects a highlight object word highlighted among the words of the retrieval result object word string based on the result of matching with the retrieval result object word string which has become the retrieval result word string, and based on a pronunciation-symbol-to-word table associating pronunciation symbols with words. A highlight conversion unit 64 converts the retrieval result word string into a highlight word string in which highlight object words among the words of the highlight object word string are highlighted.
