<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently retrieve an image forming apparatus from a network in an IPv6 environment. <P>SOLUTION: A network device detection section 4 of a management apparatus communicates with a plurality of devices on a network through multicast via an ICMPv6 communication section 1, collects address information, generates a network device list that is a list of the collected address information, and stores the list in a network device list storage section 5; an image forming apparatus retrieval/determination/list generation section 8 communicates with each respective device of each address information on the network device list on the basis of communication availability and priority determined by a communication priority setting section 6 for each address information on the list, acquires identification information of an image forming apparatus, and generates an image forming apparatus list of the address information of the device which has been determined to be the image forming apparatus, and stores the image forming apparatus list in an image forming apparatus list storage section 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
