PEAPOD ORGANIC NANOTUBE ENCAPSULATING METAL OR METAL OXIDE NANOPARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively and easily producing a peapod organic nanotube encapsulating metal or metal oxide nanoparticles in a hollow of an organic nanotube.

SOLUTION: A peapod organic nanotube encapsulating nanoparticles is produced by using, as an amphiphilic molecule for forming an organic nanotube, a N-glycoside type glycolipid expressed by general formula (1): G-NHCO-R and mixing water with nanoparticles and the organic nanotube and stirring the mixture while the surface potential of the nanoparticles is decreased to close to 0 point of a charge. In formula (1), G represents a sugar residue of sugar from which a hemiacetal hydroxyl group bonded to an anomeric carbon atom is removed; and R represents an unsaturated hydroxyl group having 10 to 24 carbon atoms.
