PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having desired electric chargeability and to prevent its deterioration even under high temperature and high humidity by using the toner composed of spherical resin particles consisting mainly of a binder resin and a polymer incorporating a specified dispersion stabilizer attached to the surface of the spherical resin particles. CONSTITUTION:A monomer for constituting the binder resin is dispersed into a mixed medium of water and a water-miscible organic solvent and polymerized in the presence of the dispersion stabilizer composed of a polymer having structural components derived from acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid to produce the spherical resin particles incorporating the binder and the dispersion stabilizer attached to their surfaces of the resin. The toner particles having desired triboelectrifiability are prepared by allowing the polymerization product to be reacted with SOCl2, PCl3, or PCL5 in an organic solvent, then reacting the product with amine and/or alcohol to convert the carboxylic groups of the stabilizer into amide or ester, and mixing the amine or alcohol substituted by a desired amount of F with the amine or alcohol. |
