<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical sound generator that can smoothly replace a musical sound waveform with another one during sound production without reducing the number of simultaneous sound productions. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic musical sound generator comprises: a digitally controlled oscillator 3 and a loop buffer 3a for starting to read out a rising portion of a musical sound waveform in response to the start of sound production of musical sound of C<SB POS="POST">3</SB>in a channel 1 and subsequently shifts to reading-out of a repeated portion; and a digitally controlled oscillator 4 and a loop buffer 4a for, upon key pushing of C<SB POS="POST">4</SB>, starting to read out at least a repeated portion of a resonance sound musical sound waveform C<SB POS="POST">3</SB>+C<SB POS="POST">4</SB>different from the musical sound waveform C<SB POS="POST">3</SB>read out by the digitally controlled oscillator 3 and loop buffer 3a, in response to a change in the musical sound waveform which has been started to produce.
