The hydraulic drive device has a frequency-controlled drive motor (1), where a motor shaft (2) is firmly connected to a flywheel (3) and firmly connected with an uncontrolled hydraulic pump (4). The hydraulic pump is operated in an idle mode or in a conveyance mode. The drive motor is provided for dispensing a constant torque and is formed over an entire speed area with a vector control. An independent claim is also included for a method for supplying hydraulic power.
