<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus having a transfer belt driving controller. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image forming apparatus comprises: a plurality of photoreceptors on which toner images of different hues from one another are respectively formed; a transfer belt on which toner images of different hues from one another are stacked to form a color image, while the belt circulates and travels with facing the plurality of photoreceptors; a transfer belt driving controller including an idle roller that is installed to be freely rotatable on a rotating shaft of one of a plurality of rollers disposed at a predetermined interval inside the transfer belt and that is wrapped and rotated by the transfer belt, an encoder wheel that rotates with the idle roller, an encoder that detects information regarding rotation of the encoder wheel, and a control unit that controls a linear velocity of the transfer belt by feedback control on a driving source for driving a supporting roller, based on the information regarding the rotation of the encoder wheel measured by the encoder; and a fixing unit for melt-fixing the color image on a sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
