<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of satisfying both of shortening a time from the supply of a power to the start of a copy (warming-up time) and of making image quality higher. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a fixing device 100 including a fixing surface layer member (release layer 114 of a heat generation belt 11), a heat generation substrate (heat generation layer 112 of the heat generation belt 11) heating the fixing surface layer member by converting power into heat, and a pressure member (pressure roller 16) forming a nip portion N together with the fixing surface layer member heated by the heat generation substrate, and fixing toner on a recording material P by passing the recording material P through the nip portion N. Either the fixing surface layer member, the heat generation substrate or a space between the fixing surface layer member and the heat generation substrate contains silicon nitride ceramic powder using MgSiN<SB POS="POST">2</SB>as a sintering agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
