<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic force type actuator capable of imparting energization force by magnetic force over a long range in the axial direction of a cylinder, and to provide an opening/closing assisting device for providing opening/closing assisting force by the same. <P>SOLUTION: A cylinder 11 is axially polarized into an N pole and an S pole by a permanent magnet 21 for a cylinder, and the polarization line thereof is assumed to be α. A piston 31 is axially polarized into an N pole and an S pole by a permanent magnet 32 for a piston, and the polarization line thereof is assumed to be β. By the influence of magnetic force between both the permanent magnets 21 and 31, the piston 31 receives axial energization force with respect to the cylinder 11 by the influence of the magnetic force between both the permanent magnets 21 and 31 at any position other than a reference position where α and β coincide with each other.
