<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damper which induces torsional deformation in vibration absorption by a cross-sectional shape of a damping block, and thereby, is more excellent in damping performance than a structure inducing only shear deformation. <P>SOLUTION: A side face 14C of the damping block 14 is not perpendicular to a top face 14A and a bottom face 14B and inclined at a predetermined angle θ. Thereby, centroids of adhesive faces 16A, 16B between the damping block 14 and rigid plates 12A, 12B are off-set by a distance δ in a width direction. When an external force (tensile force) shown in arrows 20A, 20B is applied, the damping block 14 induces torsional deformation, thus increasing a damping amount by the additional torsional deformation compared to the case of the use of a damping block that does not induces torsional deformation and induces only shear deformation.
