PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sealing performance between a boot for a constant velocity universal joint and a constant velocity universal joint.

SOLUTION: The boot for the constant velocity universal joint 9 includes a large diameter mounting part 9a fixed to an outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint by tightening of a boot band. A thick part 18a and a thin part 18b are alternately arranged in the circumference in the large diameter mounting part 9a. A projection 21 protruding outward in the radial direction is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the thick part 18a in a band mounting groove 16.
