<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read, even if a code symbol corresponding to a service display is configured to be detected by light other than a visible light region, both of the code symbol and a code symbol of a commodity code. <P>SOLUTION: A camera 20 captures an image based on irradiation light by a first light source applying light with a wavelength in the visible light region or a second light source applying light with a wavelength other than the visible light region. A camera control unit 55 controls the irradiation in the first light source and the second light source and the imaging by image pickup means such that code information corresponding to a first code symbol included in an image captured by the irradiation light by the first light source and code information corresponding to a second code symbol included in an image captured based on the irradiation light by the second light source.
