The method involves detecting coupling path information related to rotational axis of a clutch using a path sensor of hydraulic actuator in clutch actuation system. The information of circulating axial movement of the clutch contained in the coupling path information is used to determine rotation speed of the clutch. The axial movement of the clutch is detected at sampling frequency which is greater than operating frequency of clutch.
