The power tool has a suspension (20) which has carriers (22,23) coupled to machine housing (8) and handle (17) respectively. The carrier (22) has stop surface (28) facing stop surface (30) of carrier (23), which is engaged behind the handle. A resilient plastic spring element (40) applies force on stop surface (28) which rests against the stop surface (30) in initial position. The carrier (22) is displaced relative to carrier (23) against spring element from initial position to operative position. An air gap is formed between stop faces in operative position.
