<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parameter setting tool equipped with a function that allows the tool to obtain and install DTM information compatible with a connection target device on the spot if the tool does not include the DTM information. <P>SOLUTION: A parameter setting tool which communicates with a field instrument via a field bus and accesses parameters of the field instrument on the basis of DTM (Device Type Manager) information conforming to a standard for the field bus communicates with other tool where DTM information compatible with the field instrument is installed, when accessing a parameter of the field instrument which is not compatible with DTM information installed in the own tool; requests transfer of the DTM information compatible with the field instrument; and additionally installs the DTM information transferred from the other tool as the DTM information of the own tool. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
