<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll-like medium feeding apparatus which can carry out the attaching and detaching operation for a roll-like medium while suppressing damage of parts, and to provide a recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The roll-like medium feeding apparatus 17, in which a first shaft 18 supporting a roll of paper 13 is freely detachably mounted winds off and feeds a long continuous forms paper from the roll of paper by rotating the roll of paper centering the first shaft, includes a notched groove 34 in which the first shaft is freely detachably fitted accompanying movement in a direction perpendicular to the first shaft, and second gear wheels 40 and 41 which can mesh with a first gear wheel 18a formed integrally to be concentrically arranged with the first shaft and which can rotate centering second shafts 40a and 41a parallel to the first shaft which is in a state of being fitted in the notched groove.
