<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear transmission system for bicycles by which a suitable gear ratio is automatically selected according to tilting and condition of a road surface, and thereby, a driver concentrates on driving without concerning operation of a derailleur. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes: a sprocket 2 in which a plurality sheets of gears 1 are piled up; a circular chain 3; the derailleur 4; a wire member 5; a pressure sensitive sensor 7; and a gear change indicator 10 including a motor 8 for operating the wire member 5, and a controller 9 for processing an electric signal from the pressure sensitive sensor 7. The gear change indicator 10 receives an electric signal according to tread force of the driver, detected by the pressure sensitive sensor 7, and measures the electric signal by the controller 9. When the tread force is not within a threshold range, the motor 8 is rotated and the wire member 5 is operated to move the derailleur 4, while the chain 3 is moved to change the gear 1 in the sprocket 2, and a ratio of a rotation angle of a crank and a rotation angle of a wheel is changed so that the tread force may be within the threshold range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
