<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece carrying apparatus which is a compact apparatus that needs no large space for installation and which is capable of efficiently carrying a workpiece in and out. <P>SOLUTION: The workpiece conveying apparatus includes; a support frame 2; a first arm 3 that is freely rotatably supported around a first shaft J1; a reference posture holding member that is arranged on the first shaft J1 and that can relatively hold a posture against the support frame 2; a second arm 5 that is freely rotatably supported around a second shaft J2 parallel to the first shaft J1 relative to the first arm 3; and a first and a second hand 51, 52 that are each arranged on a third shaft J3 and a fourth shaft J4 which are parallel to the first shaft J1 and nearly equidistant from the second shaft and that are each freely rotatably supported around the third shaft J3 and the fourth shaft J4 relative to the second arm 5.
