<p>A rotor core assembly comprises a magnet 4, first and second end caps 5,6 located at respective ends of the magnet, and a sleeve 7 surrounding the magnet and the end caps forming an interference fit with each of the end caps, an adhesive being located between the magnet and the sleeve. Figs 4a-d illustrate the mounting of a sleeve 7 to the subassembly of end-caps and magnet, the sleeve receiving the sub-assembly in an adhesive bath, the sleeve forming an interference fit with each of the end-caps and a clearance fit with the magnet which retains the adhesive 17 therein. Alternatively, the complete sub assembly of sleeve, magnet and end-caps is inserted into an adhesive bath, a notch 41 in the edge of an end cap allowing adhesive 16 to enter (figs 6-8) during vacuum impregnation.
