PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the shortening and miniaturization of a vulcanization apparatus, to reduce installation expenditure, and to smooth the surface of a vulcanization belt by transmitting efficiently heat from hot platens and performing effective vulcanization. SOLUTION: In a continuous vulcanization method for a long belt which continuously vulcanizes a rubber belt 1 between a pair of upper and lower metal endless bands 2 and 3 pressed by the hot platens 4 and 5, after the rubber belt 1 is vulcanized by pressing the tabular hot platens 4 and 5 under a specified vulcanization pressure, the pressing force to the hot platens 4 and 5 is reduced and at the same time, the rubber belt 1 is conveyed by a specified length by driving the metal endless bands 2 and 3. By repeating successively this procedure, efficient and uniform pressurizing and heat transmitting become possible by using the tabular hot platens 4 and 5, shortening of the whole vulcanization time and miniaturization of the apparatus are realized, and bleed-out phenomenon is suppressed by holding a certain amount of the pressing force even when the rubber belt 1 is conveyed between the vulcanization processes.
