A seat cover (1), esp. for vehicle seats, has seat (7) and backrest (6) portions with side flaps (62, 63) adjoining the latter. Each side flap has a first edge section (621, 631) spaced from the backrest portion and a second edge section (622, 632), curving from the first to a line (8) joining the backrest and seat portions. The edge sections are fitted with an elastic element that tends to pull the second edge section ends towards eachother. ADVANTAGE - The seat cover is suitable for all seat types, including reclining seats.
