The heat exchanger is esp. a water/air cooler for IC engines. It has a ribbed tube block, consisting of flat tubes and rib elements between these. The tubes are held in tube bases, and side sections enclose the block and connect the tube bases. All sections are soldered together. The tube block and the tube bases consist of aluminium. The side sections (15) are of a metal, which has a higher elasticity than aluminium e.g. sheet metal (17). The sheet steel may have an aluminium coating (18, 19) of e.g. 10 percent of the thickness of the steel.
