In a fully Connected Home different varieties of networks such as conventional circuit-switched communication system, packet-switched data networks, Internet and home entertainment systems are converged together such that telephony, multimedia contents like TV, radio and user-specific Internet services should be made available to an end user using a single multi-functional communication/entertainment device. The arrangement described discloses automatic follow-me type service/applications wherein a user can receive the multimedia sessions from the most appropriate network device according to a user context and in particular according to tracked user movement across the home network. The users location may be tracked across the network using RDIF tags and readers and, for example, the room the user is currently located in used to determine the best device to provide the session. When the user changes location (e.g. moves to a different room) the current session is seamlessly migrated to the new most appropriate device. The multi-functional devices may operate in a peer-to-peer fashion with the peers themselves handling the migration of sessions. A plurality of multi-function devices may provide a peer-to-peer backbone (430, 480) to the home network and handle the migration of sessions among devices in the network. Devices (430, 480) may be positioned at fixed locations in the home network and further features such as providing some processing at the devices based on the capability of the destination (sink) devices may also be provided. The peer devices may be configured in a master-slave arrangement.
