The apparatus (1) has a hollow outer sleeve (14) that receives a sensor (16). The portion of a probe is movable through an opening from outer sleeve along the longitudinal axis. An electromagnetic sensor (19) is provided for detecting the relative movement between the outer sleeve and the sensor (16). The electromagnetic sensor is provided along the longitudinal length of the tool main portion. An extending duct (20) for treatment fluid is formed along the longitudinal axis of outer sleeve.
