A doormat comprises a base 2 of a peripheral shape to suit the shape of a doormat, an upright peripheral wall 3 at the edge of the base and a separately formed rim 5 for the tray having an outward angularly oriented wall 6. There are means 8 for the detachable attachment of the rim to the base, and the rim has a part to overhang the base adjacent the peripheral wall to create an edge cavity to the tray. Preferably, downward projections 9 hold the mat in place when the rim is attached to the base. This doormat tray overcomes the problems of prior art trays in that no tool is required to remove the mat and so the mat edge is not damaged. |
