A tyre for heavy load vehicles comprising an insert interposed between a belt structure and a tread band, at least at each end of the belt structure, and made by vulcanising an elastomeric composition comprising a diene rubber and at least one reinforcing filler, wherein the reinforcing filler comprises almost exclusively silica.
