Aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion comprises at least one diisocyanate compound (I), which is surface-deactivated with at least one amine. Aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion comprises at least one diisocyanate compound of formula (I), which is surface-deactivated with at least one amine. X : [1,3]diazetidine-2,4-dione-1,3-diyl or urea-1,3-diyl; n, m : 1-4; and R, R1 : 1-4C alkyl. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparing the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion, where the surface deactivation of (I), 1,3-bis-(3-isocyanato-4-methyl-phenyl)-[1,3]diazetidine-2,4-dione (II) or 1,3-bis-(3-isocyanato-4-methyl-phenyl)-urea (III) with at least one amine, comprises (a) dispersing at least one carbodiimide (I)-(III) in powdered form, in a solution of at least one amine, or (b) adding at least one amine or a solution of at least one amine to a dispersion of at least one carbodiimide (I)-(III), and adding the obtained solution to the resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion, or adding the resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion to the solutions of (a) or (b); (2) an adhesive formulation comprising the above aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion and additionally at least one activating agent; (3) improving the adhesion of reinforcing fibers with crosslinked rubber and/or elastomer, comprising introducing the fibers into the above adhesive formulation and drying, or treating the fibers in at least one step with at least one component of the above adhesive formulation, or introducing pre-activated fibers into the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion and drying; and (4) adhesion improved fibers obtainable by contacting the fibers pretreated with activating agents, with the aqueous resorcinol-formaldehyde-latex dispersion, or by contacting a non-pretreated fiber with the adhesive formulation and drying at 180-260[deg] C.
