MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HYDROPHOBIC SILICA AEROGEL AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS OF HYDROPHOBIC SILICA AEROGEL

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for hydrophobic silica aerogel are provided to hydrophobicize and dry aerogel based on a gas phase reaction by using little amount of hydrophobicizing agent without an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: A method for hydrophobic silica aerogel includes the following: hydrophilic silica aerogel is transferred to a hydrophobicizing reactor(2); the hydrophilic silica aerogel is hydrophobicized using a gaseous hydrophobicizing agent in the hydrophobicizing reactor; byproducts are separated from the hydrophobicized silica aerogel by implementing a hot air-based drying operation in the hydrophobicizing reactor; and the byproducts are dissolved in a trapping solution to discharge purified air. The apparatus includes a storage(1), the hydrophobicizing reactor, and a byproduct trapping unit(9).
