Reformer, fuel cell system and process for its operation

The reformer (3) has an oxidant pipe (18) attached to an inlet side (14) of the reformer for feeding an oxidant to the reformer. A reformat gas pipe (24) is attached to an outlet side (23) of the reformer for discharging reformat gas from the reformer. A reheater (35) is provided in the reformat gas pipe. A reheater heat exchanger (40) is included downstream of the reheater in the reformat gas pipe and/or coupled with the reheater in a heat transferring manner. The reheater heat exchanger is included upstream of the reformer in a branch (41) of the oxidant pipe. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating a reformer (2) a fuel cell system including fuel cells.
