PURPOSE: A geo-tagging power control method in a portable terminal is provided to reduce the power consumption of a portable terminal by reducing operation numbers of a location information module. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal searches serving base station information. The portable terminal captures subjects when the serving base station information is not existed(516,518). The portable terminal operates a location information module at the same time. The portable terminal stores meta data of the captured image which includes location information acquired by the location information module(520). The portable terminal maps the serving base station information with the meta data(522).
