PURPOSE: A portable terminal based on a social network service and communication method using the same are provided to improve a sense of closeness by sharing portable terminal setting information. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) communicates with an internet host or other terminal. A memory unit(130) stores the setting information of a portable terminal. A setting unit(140) establishes a sharing range for the setting information of the memory unit. A control unit(150) transmits the profile of the permitted setting information to other terminal when the communication unit receives a sharing request from other terminal.
