PURPOSE: A file system check apparatus and method, and a computer-readable recording medium recording a program are provided to reduce the total check time and improve check reliability. CONSTITUTION: A folder search unit(100) refers to trace information based on the file system meta information of a file inside the folder of a check target drive. A file system management unit(102) selectively commands a file system check in case the trace information of a file checked by the folder search unit is outside the trace information range of the integrity information of the folder.
