PURPOSE: A temperature controller and an operation method thereof are provided to prevent consumption of electricity by controlling the drive of a temperature reducing apparatus based on the internal temperature of a light emitting device package. CONSTITUTION: A sensor senses internal temperature. A controller controls the drive of a temperature reducing apparatus for reducing the internal temperature based on the internal temperature. The controller drives the temperature reducing apparatus in case the internal temperature exceeds allowable temperature. The controller stops the drive of the temperature reducing apparatus in case the internal temperature is less than the allowable temperature. The controller comprises a transistor(210) and a thermoelectric element(220) in which a resistance value is changed by coping with the internal temperature.
