<p>A method and an apparatus for replacing a wireless network based on Equivalent Public Land Mobile Network (EPLMN) are disclosed. The method includes the following steps: establishing a new network and configuring its Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) as a second PLMN; configuring a cell in the new network with the same station address for each cell in the current network as an inter-frequency neighbor cell; a core network side in the current network sends an EPLMN list including a first PLMN and the second PLMN to a user who needs to be transferred every time; and after all the users in the current network have been transferred to the new network, the PLMN in the new network is replaced from the second PLMN to the first PLMN, and the EPLMN list of the core network side in the new network is deleted. Thus, the drawback in the prior art that the communication services provided to the users in the whole network will be interrupted during removing old network devices and installing new network devices is overcome, the manufacture and update of the large amount of data in the prior art are omitted, and the work load in replacing the network is reduced.</p> |
