PURPOSE: A display type conversion method of a portable terminal is provided to enable a user to selectively change a desired part of images by enabling a user to select the desired part of the image. CONSTITUTION: A control unit displays a part of images(310) as three dimensional images in a first area among a whole display area according to the recognition of a gesture. The control unit displays other part of the images(320) as two dimensional images in a second area. The control unit displays a part of the images(330) as three dimensional images in a third area among the whole display area. The control unit displays other part of the image(340) as two dimensional images in a fourth area.
