METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING INSULIN-PRODUCING TUMORS OF PANCREAS

A method for diagnosing insulin-producing tumors of pancreas comprises angiography of the blood vessels of pancreas and the selective arterial stimulation by intra-arterial administration of gluconate into gastroduodenal, splenic, superior mesenteric and proper hepatic arteries followed by sampling the blood in liver for measuring the concentration of insulin and diagnosing insulin-producing tumors in the corresponding area of pancreas. When the left anatomo-surgical segment is supplied via dorsal pancreatic artery, gluconate is administered also into the said artery. When insulin concentration is increased, the tumor localized in the body or the tail of pancreas is diagnosed.
