The technique for splenectomy comprises the skin incision, the dissection of the subcutaneous fat, the cut of aponeurosis of the external oblique muscle of abdomen. Then the muscles in the left hypochondrium are moved apart, the spleen is mobilized laparoscopically, and the vascular pedicle is treated. All the steps stated above are performed before the laparoscopic mobilization of the spleen with the integrity of the peritoneum being spared. The vascular pedicle is treated in the setting of the sealed peritoneal cavity. |
