PURPOSE: A system for recovering waste heat for a ship and a method of testing a turbine generator thereof are provided to greatly reduce a trial run period of a ship since the test of a turbine generator can be conducted on a quay wall. CONSTITUTION: A system(100) for recovering waste heat for a ship comprises a waste heat collector(110), a turbine generator(120), and a superheated-steam generator(130). The waste heat collector generates first superheated-steam(116) by heat of exhaust gas emitted from a ship engine. The turbine generator operates with the first superheated-steam to generate electrical energy. The superheated-steam generator generates second superheated-steam from saturated steam generated by a boiler to test the turbine generator and supplies the second superheated steam to the turbine generator.
