Disclosed is a liquid formulation containing luteinizing hormone (LH) or a variant thereof characterized in that said formulation comprises a phosphate buffer and a stabilizing amount of arginine or salts thereof at a concentration of at or about 10 to at or about 50 mg/ml and/or lysine or salts thereof at a concentration of at or about 10 to at or about 50 mg/ml. Use of the formulation in a medicament for treatment of infertility and the use in combination with follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is also disclosed.
