摘要 A rheological test and analysis apparatus and method for analysing bodily fluids like salvia, the apparatus comprising two mating surfaces in a housing to receive the sample aligned to move apart, a handle allowing manual separation of the mating surfaces; an extensional measurement device integral with the housing positioned to measure a distance between the first mating surface and the second mating surface. The mating surfaces contain single use disposable pads or plates with matching curved faces. The mating surfaces are separated at a known rate until the sample fractures or a maximum distance between the mating surfaces is achieved and the result is sensed by a fracture sensor and measured and recorded electronically. Excess bodily fluid is squeezed from the plates before stretching into a trough. The first mating surface can be adjusted in height via a cam.
