Disclosed is 5-({ 6-[2,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]pyridazin-3-yl} methyl)-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-5H-imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine of the formula (1) and processes for its preparation. Intermediates of formula (3), including those which are substituted with methyl rather than chloromethyl, and its analogues substituted with bromo, fluro or iodo in place of chloro are also disclosed. Compound (1) is useful for therapy or prophylaxis of HCV infections.
